MDC Alliance-At the cusp of Self Destruction.

Today people of Zimbabwe in general and MDC Alliance supporters in particular woke up to a shocking headline in the Press screaming "
Victoria Falls Mayor forced to step down".
Honestly this kind of a headline got me curious as it invoked in me and possibly in many others the old memories of the days when Ignatious Chombo was Minister of Local Government.During those days I can assure you that this was not an unusual headline.Its the era when most local authorities were subjected to Commissions and such other vices for alleged mosmanagement and insurbodination.
Today it was not Chombo in action.Neither was it any government induced action on an elected public official.
Yes indeed it was an internal counter-democratic move by the 'Party of Exellence' , MDC Alliance.Yes it was indeed the Youthful President of the outfit who was exercising his 'democratic' mandate to choose leaders for his people.Indeed he understands the illiteracy and ineptitude of the people of Victoria Falls such that they cannot tell whats and whats not good for them.
Yes the Party President is quite convinced that the people of Matebeleland cannot choose what they really want.I refer to Matebeleland because it happened recently in Bulawayo when it was time to choose the Mayor.Chamisa's hand was visible and indeed decisive in the end.
Now with all these signs is it not clear that we have a worse dictator here in the making ? Much worse than Mugabe himself his mentor?
It will be remembered how Chamisa scaled the leadership heights in MDC after violently snatching power using his all powerful vanguard outfit.He is famed for appointing himself President of the Party hours after Tsvangirai had passed away in South Africa.
We know how the likes of Khupe were hounded out of the Party by the clever and omnipotent Chamisa.
He is also famed for dodging Congress by skillfully and forcifully avoiding anything to do with Constitutionalism.
Recently we all have witnessed how he sought to muzzle Douglas Mwonzora and possibly sidelining one Tendai Biti whom he deemed too ambitious to challenge him for Party leadership in the event that Congress is called.We witnessed how he made himself the appointing authority in MDC Alliance.The likes of Welshman Ncube have been cowed into submission such that he has become content with a token appointment in the so-called original MDC.
Chamisa has literally become the All In One Centre of Power in the MDC.He makes all important decisions for the Party.
Question is , Is this the Model of Democracy that the MDC would want to foster, impose and perpetuate on the Nation in the unlikely event that they get their hand on the levers of State Power ?
At this rate I see a monster of a dictator in the making in Chamisa.
But I see a wave of resistance building up across the width and breath of the core MDC support base.
This could spell doom to the so called people's project founded on the principles of Democracy and respect of individual right to self determination.
For now we watch from the sidelines as a political catastrophe unfolds.
